Hi, my 2c, I agree with what others say, you will not have speed slow downs between your provider and your home, I suggest its your internal network, personally I have found the Google routers to be pretty lame, and you could not pay me to use one,... and yes I have upgraded a few homes with other gear and similar complaints of slow downs have dissappeared.

I would suggest you try a different router first. Spark Smart Modem 2 or 3 would be a much better option than your Google/Netgear router from 2d/Orcon. You can find these routers on Trademe for a good price.

Where is the 'slowness'? on wifi devices? if so then you need to address that (e.g newer/better access points/mesh systems) rather than hyperfibre

I would not move from Orcon/2degrees to Worldnet personally… Worldnet seem to have a pretty limited network in my opinion.

Also there’s no way you’ll need Hyperfibre. My suggestion is to give Orcon a call and renegotiate your contract as they will likely give you a cheaper deal.

Worldnet moved wholesale providers a year or so ago, they are now on a very good network. (I know it well!)

*Update* it’s $136 a month with hyperfibire through Worldnet..

As someone who has been on Hyperfibre for years (I get it free), unless you are going to spend 1-2K upgrading your internal network to 2.5G+ ethernet  and wifi 7 don't bother.
