Yea, but Only when it feels like it - and this only started this behaviour a week or so ago. Previously it had always Blasted at max speed.

Wonder if there's some other devices attached to the network doing e.g. background updates/backups/etc. Most routers allow you to see what DHCP leases it's handed out - may be worth going through and switching off each device until you find the cuplrit.

Agree there is no fault with LFC/RSP so the note very nice comments about the RSP staff was not called for IMHO.

I keep an eye on all that kinda thing, the Asus router even has app notification for unusually activity/heavy upload traffic.

I genuinely think there is something borked in the Ultrahub router, so it won't be getting plugged back in, we can do without the "landline".

Having worked for an ISP in the past on helpdesk/accounting/front desk, I know when I'm being fobbed off. It may be 15 years since I worked that job and have forgotten a lot of stuff and don't know a lot of the fibre stuff - I still know when they're not listening, I was paid to Not be that guy.

Perhaps try connecting a computer straight to the ONT (remember the VLAN requirement) with an Ethernet cable and do a Speedtest?  This eliminates all potential equipment issues at home.  While it would be rare, the problem could be with the ONT.

Note, don’t rely on a USB to Ethernet adapter for the testing unless you have tested on a known good network that you can actually get a good full speed test from that adapter.  Many will report a gigabit connection but the USB part of the equation cannot actually deliver that speed.  We’ve also seen some cheaper laptops with Ethernet connections that internally are connected by USB and can’t actually deliver full gigabit speeds.

Like Dynamic says, I feel like you need to do this test again. I know you have tested before but how often is the speeds dropping like you say is it every other day all the time ? only in peak times?. If you could go direct to ONT with a computer or laptop you know gets full speed.

If on windows use the windows 10 or windows 11 Speedtest app from the ms store. not the webpage or anything else and run 3x tests to Chorus speed test, Devoli & Feenix, ufone have a great server as well.

then just post the results from those tests.
