Ragnor: It can depend on a number of factors... are you currently on ADSL or cable? If you're on ADSL, what is the line speed in your modem's admin ui? If you're on cable are you on 4Mbit or 10Mbit?

Personally I think Maxnet, TelstraClear and Telecom (regular plan, not big time) are the most consistent and best performing ISP's.

It can be quite frustrating when dealing with maxnet...

telecom/chrous rang - everything is now connected, rang maxnet why i was unable to get connected to the internet, modem sync perfect to the exchange. status in the maxnet member's area said it is completed.

me: cannot login to the internet, sync to the exchange with no issue, how can i solve this?

maxnet rep: the connection not finish yet, need to wait for telecom people to connect it

me: the telecom contractor already rang and leave me card... etc2

maxnet rep: really? over here it says not finished yet, something on 'our end'...

me: can we do anything?

maxnet rep: ... "our end" not done yet

me: can you explain to me more?

maxnet rep: i cannot do anything, need to wait for 'our end' to get connected...

this conversation goes on and on. the only thing he can tell me is that something on 'our end' is not done yet. this problem is not solved until the next following day after I sent an email to the support team. they able to fix the issue for me.

change plan - you will be charged, the customer rep did not explain/inform me about this... (It was free to change plan/bandwith with telstraclear, therefore I assume it will be free with maxnet - could not find anything wrt additional charges on the maxnet website)

rang to get the plan change - the answer i got was, 'everything will be done by tomorrow morning'. oh well, it took them 3 days before the plan is changed...

should have stick with telecom pro...
