Paraparaumu, Kapiti Coast
Xtra (an plder plan - 2mbps down; 192kbps up)
Download Speed: 1917 kbps (239.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 124 kbps (15.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

While this was 10:10 p.m. on a Sunday night, I have, over the last month, consistently had over 1900kbps down.  Up has not been higher than around 150kbps from memory (may be worht going to 3.5/128 for the same price as it appears my upload speed won't reduce by much in any event!)

When posting your replies, and researching your data are you guys looking at your raw atm speeds?

My router allows me to look at the link speed to the dslam.

As most of us know, there are many reasons why data speeds may be slowed thru the network.  However the dsl<--->dslam speed is a very good indication of line issues v's other network issues.

I found it interesting to note that my ATM up link speed was ~160kbits/s.  Last time I had dsl connected on the same line it was higher.

Does anyone know if Telecom are now impossing limits on the raw dsl<--->dslam links as well now?

Cheers Don

Woohoo!!!   Actrix 2Mbps/128kbps  21gb, $55/mth.

After numerous emails and good follow-up......  And testing this at a good time (3.36pm), improved from my previous tests of only around 400kbps download, now, it's:

Pakuranga/Bucklands Beach:
Download Speed: 2109 kbps (263.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 70 kbps (8.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
