karmic: I bet if Theresa Gattuang (or whatever her name is) had a problem at home that they would have it fixed within hours.

I would say TG only uses that sort of service at Head Office, other times she will be using her T3G Air Card?

Maybe her household uses Xtra Broadband, but I somehow think she use's it very little herself? Anyone want to disagree? Of course this is only speculation.

Cheers

Yes and Annette has a fully tailored Telecom communications package, including Air Cards for Slingshot Support Staff (and those call centers), Mobiles for executives on a special ME rate, and Telecom Anytime Plus Home Line Plans, receiving a $10 discount off her chosen Xtra Broadband plan because she has all her toll calls with Telecom. Not to mention Annette is currently thinking about taking up Telecom's Freedom offer, to do as Telecom Say "Keep In Touch" Wink

Both Telecom and Vodafone are doing a promotion on their data cards for $49.00 per month with 1GB free.  It's a good deal so i suggest you check out their website for more information ie: terms and conditions.  Just be aware you are charged for data usage so if you do a lot of internet surfing this may cost you more.  The telecom website home page is 49076 bytes.  Then if you go into the Mobile Broadband Data Plan page this is 42799 bytes so everytime you open a new page this will be added to your data usage. Hope this helps

Hi,

Is the ADSL light on the modem flashing or stable.  If there is no sync, you wouldn't get a light or it could be flashing then dropping constantly.  If Xtra has advised the ADSL port at the exchange is down then its not an issue with your equipment and you will have to wait unfortunately.

Things to check:

1.  Can you ping your modem.
2.  No extension cables being used.
3.  Line filters on all phone devices.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Thanks for your reply, have tried all of the above, Telecom have advised that it is an issue at the Exchange as I have previously posted, I was mostly interested to find out if anyone else had experienced problems such as my own.  I'll probably have to wait longer now that I shouted at the Technician, something I am most ashamed of and would like to apologise for since it wasn't actually his fault.  I just think the service is crap, waiting 2 weeks for a technician to become available to fix the problem because they are all busy with new connections sucks.

Maybe there is only 1 Technician left and he's flying back and forth around the country. Most new connection work involves MDF jumpering that wouldn't have been done by technicians in the past.

Nothing would surprise me, feel sorry for the technician if that's the case.
