Fraktul: If you are proposing microwave backhaul then dont expect ISM 5.8 or 2.4ghz spectrum to be suitable. CHCH is one of the worst places for ISM spectrum congestion apart from Albany in Auckland.
Fraktul: I would suggest 5.3GHz point to point gear then, something like a Trango Atlas. 9 degree beam width from memory and with all the advantages you get in 5.3 of the lower power restrictions. Over 100m you should be able to use full QAM 64 modulation for 45mbps throughput.
The other alternative may be free space optical equipment.
Fraktul: If you have looked at linking homes with exterior CAT5e I assume you have also done the research into the civils for this.
If you are still interested in the 2.4 route we have plenty of old omnis, directionals and other misc 2.4 crap like ec's and pigtails sitting in storage you could get for cheap/free + shipping down there.
