We route some traffic out over a Hosting Direct VDSL connection due to far cheaper data charges than our main provider.
We've been with them for 10 months now after starting out on ADSL and they've definitely come a long way.
Initially had a number of unexpected outages at inconvenient times but seems to have been rock solid for a while now and speed is better than their 'budget' pricing indicates.
We also have a server colocated with them, no issues.
If your customer is looking for a home connection then definitely give them a shot.
Business... maybe... if they need proven reliability it might be best to point them towards Snap/Unleash at this stage.

Budget?

They are pretty close to Snap's VDSL plans

Snap:
100GB Naked VDSL 50Mb/10Mb with unlimited iSky/You Tube/Google etc + $5 AYCE nights
$177.00 p/mth (12mth contract)

HD.net
100GB Naked VDSL 30Mb/10Mb
$165.00 p/mth (30 day contract)

Regarding data over usage, HD might claw in, but overall Snap has a faster download rate (50 to 30), complemented by many other addons.

I have had quite a few dealings with Ben from HD and find him to be rather alright (Yes I witnessed what happened here @GZ, and I don't agree with how he dealt with it, but people need 2nd [and 3rd]chances and I feel he and his company seem to have pulled through.)

Regarding HD's service, I can not comment about the quality of his data network, but I have always and still do receive prompt email service for his other offerings (web/domain etc).

To sum it up, I think Snap are proven, but HD are getting there. I fell it will come down to price and to what data extras are available.

My choice:
VDSL/ADSL =Snap (I have Snap VDSL)
Web/Domain =HD
VPS etc=WMS

Went to have a look at Snap's VDSL2 pricing, I can't find it.
In fact I hate their website, i like to navigate websites, not go through some mind numbing wizard.
A site map would be good.
Alot of ISP have VDSL2 services but don't advertise it, strange.
Thanks for all your comments, good to know what's out there.
I am a bit of Telecom follower, just never had an issue with their broadband and when your dealing with
businesses you need peace of mind stability, especially when they use VOIP .

Their website. Only because its mentioned quite a few times in different places. So it can't be a typo right?

Hvae to agree here, I have always heard good things about Snap and several times I have wondered about what sort of deal I could get from them for my second line...

But every time I think about it I visit their site and it totally cures me of wanting to do business with them.

Well, so far I can see one mention of 50mbits, one of 30mbits and quite a few of 'FS/FS', so who knows!!

Unleash would be better.

They have a very good contention ratio (if speed is of the essence!).

Their VDSL2 is "targeted" for enthusiasts & business (I believe), but is very much available to residential.

Im also sure that 17a profile has been achieved through Unleash for people on VDSL2. Was talking to a guy on steam one time.

I found Snap's VDSL2 pricing (not easy to find)
It is a bit strange the way they price it, simply $50 a month on top of the standard plans, which is a bit
steep for my liking. Why should VDSL2 cost so much more, it should not far off ADSL2+ and go by data used as always.

I like the look of Unleash, their website is simple and to the point and nobody has said anything bad about them, bit worried what the pricing might be like though.
