I guess by the time we end up buying this property assuming it goes ok, should be a bit more choice hopefully, looking forward to it.

Remember if you do end up going down the satellite path that you still have to be able to 'see-the-bird'.
Many places in the Sounds are surrounded by steep hills.... you may not be able to see the satellite from your new plot!!

When you go have a look at the land take a mobile with you and see if you get a signal. Thats the best starting point.

Yes thank you for that, I have a client who had that problem and she ended up getting a huge satellite dish to get any connection at all, but it worked out for her in the end.
Think she ended up with ruralinzone and they are quite helpful but expensive.
I know Farmside works up where we are looking.
