kwaan: telecom just wanna give the distance bs and not tell the overhaul truth to its customers and its wholesalers.....

There's no "distance bs". Distance is a factor in DSL technologies, due to the medium used to transmit information.

Don’t be silly MF, you know 'resistance' just a conspiracy theory developed by scientists in the 1960's and carried on by the telecommunications industry to deny people of their full download speed.

NokiaRocks, I am pretty sure you forgot the [sarcasm] [/sarcasm] tags in your post, perhaps?

Things need to be clear on posts because some people read stuff out of context...

kwaan: The only other way of i see you getting full speed is if there is a new residental area development going around your area....i live in a new suburb and me and lot of other people in our new area were connected to a exchange that was way too full because people living in that area were also connected to it.....i had to wait for 2 weeks after moving in to actually for someone to move their house so that i can get a phone no and this lady had a waiting period of 3 months......now that there are so many houses in our new suburb telecom must have finally made a new exchange in our area and i get the full 3.5mbps speeds compared to 2mbps before as the new exchange is hardly overloaded so if new residential area development around your house then you might get transfered to the new exchange or some people will be transfereed to that and you might get full speeds despite the 4.5km distance bs that telecom and other ISPS tell you cause even from the new exchange i am 4km away and get full speeds.....telecom just wanna give the distance bs and not tell the overhaul truth to its customers and its wholesalers.....

Interesting, only problem is i live in a built up area, right int he middle of the north shore so there is nowhere to actually build new suburbs.

Telecom now tried telling me that my ISP is probably restricting the gaming port so it's their fault my gaming pings go up so high during the evenings. Im with XNET and they asure me they dont.

They might not on purpose, however due to the joys of overselling capacity... it may have a similar effect.
