Upgrade notification from 2degrees at last!
My 2degrees 100/20 UFB connection in Wellington:
"The best part? The upgrade is free. There’s absolutely no change to your monthly broadband plan price."
Sideface
We were on a 100/20 plan, and when Slingshot did their provisioning, my upload speed went to 97mbps and my download speed dropped to 57mbps. According to there generic, useless reply there are a list of list of technical issues that "might" cause the problem. After going through the hoops with them and testing my home network, and after four days of emails they are now offering a new modem - with a 12-month contract. What a bunch of wallys! I've been out of contract with them for several years now, as I haven't had any issues, but they now blame the user automatically, and it's up to us to prove them wrong. Why can't they admit it might have caused some people issues and investigate instead of passing the buck!!!

Upgrade notification from 2degrees at last!
My 2degrees 100/20 UFB connection in Wellington:
- 22 Nov - upload speed increased to 100Mbps - nothing from 2degrees
- 26 Nov - download speed increased to 300Mbps - nothing from 2degrees
- 10 Dec - I receive a "Say hello to a free speed boost" email from 2degrees:
"The best part? The upgrade is free. There’s absolutely no change to your monthly broadband plan price."
Seems they sent the email after the upgraded everyone.
I didn't get an early upgrade.
When I last checked here in Dunedin on the 8th of Dec my speed was still 100/100.
Two days later when I get my email and check 300/100.
Yay. Thanks Chorus & 2 degrees :)

Vodafone did the same to me. I couldn't help myself and called to see if something was wrong. They basically told me it was my problem before noting that I was on the right plan for 500/500, but something was wrong. They logged a fault and when I called back to check on it they had reverted the plan to 100/100 and told me I wasn't authorised on the account to talk about the fault and then told me to wait over the weekend. Only one of the techs I spoke to even knew the upgrade was a thing.
Should have just waited. Looks like they've undone my free upgrade, haha.

Sounds like you both might want to move providers.
We have 100/20 fibre with Voyager.
On whim to see if there is any sign of 300/100 arriving for us, I just did a speed test. Interestingly I'm now getting 180/19, which looks surprisingly like 200/20 with overheads... which seems odd! Have they bumped us to 200/20 instead of 300/100... maybe as a temporary transition?
Definitely had been getting 100/20 (ish) until recently... so any upgrade must also have happened in last few weeks. We are still listed as being on the 100/20 plan, and the website is only offering 100/20 or 950/450 plans still.
Frustratingly, realworld performance on 100/20 fibre has been slower for us than we were getting on VDSL at 70/30 from Voyager (which we had until a few months ago) - I guess that is due to far less congestion on VDSL circuit compared with Fibre. I've certainly be aware of far more glitches in streamed video, than when we were on VDSL (which was flawless!). I have however noticed that our fibre connection has been a bit better the last few weeks though, so maybe that correlates with how long we've been on 200/20?
Does anyone know when 300/100 is coming to Voyager, or know anything about why I might be speedtesting at 200/20 currently?

How are you testing? Make sure it's using Ethernet, and ideally use the Ookla speedtest app rather than your browser.
Did you keep the same router in the same location when you moved to Fibre? Sounds like the issues you are seeing could be related to low wireless signals on some devices.
There is not going to be any congestion on Fibre, or on VDSL for that matter.
Same router (Fritz 7490). Same location (dedicated network cabinet in centre of house with ONT and Router (and VDSL socket)).
Went from 70/30 naked VDSL (line capable of 130/40+ but limited by the cabinet dslam) to 100/20 Fibre.
Main computer is wired ethernet. Went from flawless video performance on VDSL to occasional interuptions most evenings where the video pauses to re-sync.
Speedtests are typically fine (showing close to linespeed on both VDSL and Fibre), although occasional they've shown slower speeds on Fibre which leads me to the contention conjecture. Generally Voyager have been excellent the last few years, but I do wonder if they've had contention issues recently on Fibre, as the Voyager sales guy implied he's had a few complaints about speeds on 100/20...
Will double check all my connections, but it certainly seems odd to be getting 180/20 on a 100/20 connection?
What DNS are you using?

Using the Cloudflare DNS with Malware blocking eg 1.1.1.2 (& 0.0.0.2).
This has been a high performer in the past when tweaking my network, but will look again properly tonight. And run back through all my tests and assumptions.

We had our Voyager (Auckland) connection bumped weeks ago. You can always give them a call and ask, they're very helpful.
Edit - I had a scroll back in the thread. Ours was upgraded on 22 Nov.
Ah thanks for the specific mention of your Voyager speed increase. I read back 3 pages, but missed anyone else mentioning Voyager. Good to know you have been bumped up. Will double check all my connections tonight, then get in touch with Voyager. Thanks for all the help everyone.
Update:
Was still getting 180/19 ish by wireless too tonight (and by wired), confirming it appeared to be connection limit at 200/20.
On a whim, tonight, I disconnected ONT to Router, then reconnected it. And boom, now I'm getting 270/95, so clearly I'm on 300/100 now. Seems odd it was on 200/20 today and earlier tonight. Can't believe unplugging / replugging caused it to get full speed.... but that is what appeared to happen. I'm presuming that wasn't what actually fixed it, but suddenly I'm getting close to 300/100 everywhere wired or wireless (albeit in Wireless's case, it drops off, but not by much!).
Might never know what actually happened. But super happy with free speedboost.
Thanks for all the help and info.
