well, sitting at 1.08 CRCPM and its settling down still, looks like ill average out just below 1.

FECPM up to about 14, which isnt too bad..

also SNR is averaging 9db, mine line seems to have a habbit of riding 1db lower for some reason..

Returned to stock SNRM and there's definitely no line issues here:

Hopefully it will increase my sync back to 50mbit eventually; I'll try a weekly router reset to see if anything changes.

So I now have a good line after some initial glitches I ironed out with Snap and Chorus a while back. I am 150-200m from the exchange and have 7db attenuation and very low CRCPMs being 0.01 and 0.03. I am on 43.4 Mbit/s with 8b profile and what understand to be DLM-1. I feel that DLM has kinda given up on my line after my initial glitches.

I am pretty certain my line should be capable of 50-55 Mbit/s sync in theory.

Do y'all think getting port reset would be a worth while experiment given my stats?

Yup, you should definitely be able to get 50mbit on 8b no problem and in theory you should be able to be put onto 17a. Note that DLM will only attempt to activate the 17a profile 90 days after the last DLM profile change, so you might have to wait a bit before that is a possibility.

Alternatively, a port reset may shortcut the process and put you on 17a much faster, if not first up. Given that you had historical line issues, my advice is to get a port reset.

Post us your connection stats and we'll try to confirm you're on DLM-1.

Yes, you are on DLM-1, but you are also on the latest firmware which is known to be problematic. I'd strongly recommend (as would snap) to downgrade your firmware to the older, stable version (exact version depends on the model of your fritzbox - see the first post for details and download links). If you do this you will probably find that your sync speeds improve immensely.

gabesmith:

Yup, DLM1. And the latest firmware. If I were you I'd try downgrading the firmware - at least the version before the one you have seemed to have performance issues with short lines.

defiantly downgrade, your attenuation is likely to be showing higher on that firmware..

your attenuation figure indicates your further than you think from the exchange too.

ok I have downgraded to 5.22 firmware. Attenuation now showing as 6db which is a positive sign. Sync rate still 43.8 Mbit/s. I will see how this goes overnight and then request a port reset....

When I was on 8b my attenuation was 4-5 db. I got between 44 and 48 Mb/s, so while your connection can probably do better that's not an unusually low sync. If you adjust the SNRM target you'll probably be able to get 50 Mb/s.
