hio77: just saw this posted elsewhere...

personally i find SNR tweaking made FAR too easy here...

Does that stability adjustment setting reduce the SNRM target or increase it (or can you choose either)?

I'd be interested to know if SRA works.

both ways.

SRA isnt enabled on chorus gear regardless.

Thought that was the case.

Well that's a bugger...

Do you think it is going to be worth my while pursuing this with Slingshot/Chorus if the thing is basically "working" and stable now?

IMPORTANT NOTICE

The Fritz Box 6.06 update is a fully compatible update.

That means all existing issues with Broadcom cabinets and line cards locking up should be resolved.

I have tested it myself on my line (which any firmware above 5.22 would lock up) and the 6.06 firmware syncs successfully and with the same stats as the 5.22 firmware (if not better).

I would recommend people update to tthis firmware.

The update is available for the 7340 and 7390, 7360 is coming soon.

My stats seemed to have stayed the same during the update, maybe gotten better but it's too similar to tell and I didn't grab a screenshot before I updated.

8b (previously reported as 17a on the 5.22 firmware), 11dB attenuation downstream, achieving 29.9mbps current throughput, Speedtest.net showing 27.6mbps to Wellington City link.

alright, so a longer line.

suspect i may see different results as commonly its only been shorter lines that the firmware changes have been noticeable to a larger degree.  (exception ofcourse being exchange connections, which are generally broadcoms, not syncing at all.)

will be interesting regardless, suspect this last week with all the holidays and such messed with shipping for me.

other thing that will be interesting, is looks like it runs a different model modem.

I heard that in the 6.03 beta you were able to choose your modem version.

Maybe they pinpointed the fault using that and created a new patched modem.

quite possibly, i heard this too. however didnt want to try it myself, as the 6.0 firmwares have been seen to update the bootloader versions blocking downgrading below 6.03 again.

Really? That must only apply to the 7390 because I upgraded my 7340 to test out 6.04 and when it didn't work I just downgraded to 5.22 like normal.
