I've tried the old configure --snr command. It doesn't seem to work on VDSL. :(

interesting..

one thing to be mindful, and the thing that i have been trying to work around, or atlest detect and handle appropriately, is multiple telnet sessions to busybox based modems (which most are..) tend to get very confused, output is spat out to the first connected session and after closing it, until it reboots itself, it is bricked.

yet to find an effective solution to this.

this looks very much like something i have looked at doing however..

so the netcomm isnt actually supported.. interesting that it gives into working.

how much tinkering did you do to get it to that stage? pascal aint my thing, but ima have a poke around with it..

Almost none. The stats software is set to Huawei HG612. The firmware on it seems pretty generic, and allows access to the Broadcom and Busybox CLI.

i know its the snap forum but how do you find out your profile (8b or 17a) on a technicolour TG589vn v2

i cant seem to see it from the GUI or from the telnet session

i recall there being a thread that went over it, you have to use the CLI.

something like xdsl --show-stats IIRC.

GENERALLY, you can tell by your speed though, 17a is 99% of the time, over 55mbit, and 8b is generally under 50mbit.

cause my modem went off today when my UPS failed so its reconnected at 53mbps so im guessing ive lost 17a, maybe its to do with when i turned it back on, maybe restart it at 6am? would that help?

my attenuation hasnt changed though

sounds possibly like a bad sync, maybe unclean power affecting it if your no longer going via the UPS.

17a normally isnt lost that easy though. DLM-1 is another story again.

generally you wont loose DLM-1 till like day or two after, but it takes its time to get back.

xdsl info expand=enabled

looks to be the command your looking for, however it doesnt appear to indicate VDSL profile, simply the DLM profile..

worst comes to worst, call your isp, and ask..

probably does, i just cant find the command myself.

as you have one of these devices yourself, have you tried probing the help responses...
