stevehodge: My Fritz just stopped responding so I had to reboot it. Thus ends my epic connection. From the last push service email:
DSL Information

Current throughput     70000 kbit/s (receive direction)     10360 kbit/s (send direction)
Line attenuation                 6 dB (receive direction)                6 dB (send direction)
Signal-to-noise ratio           7 dB (receive direction)              31 dB (send direction)
DSL version     1.68.19.17
DSL status     active since 240:01:05:52

dropped in sync speed?

Nope but I was hoping to make a year in uptime. Still 240 days is not bad I guess.

Off topic: Did they make 7dB the new default SNR because I see the same SNR on my end, which was once at 12 and I haven't done any tweaking to it.

Mine's tweaked. It used to be 12-13db.

Hmm.. Well this is odd... Im not sure what happened here. Im guessing a bad sync... or it couldve been the weather last night.
Seem to have of dropped 7mbps and now I'm back to 56mbps.

Well normally I would sync at 60mbps+ even without SNR tweaking (still don't know how I got that 7 SNR), I'll try to resync tomorrow and see how it goes.

seems live everyone who was was on 17a and has had a resync (UPS died) recently has dropped about 7-8mbps, i went from 62 down to 54

the only thing i can see that changed was my downstream margin which went from 7.6dB (on 62) to 11.9dB (on 54.

Will see if it has anything to not being on the UPS when i get the new battery in and get reconnected with the modem powered from the UPS

@Hio & Jase,  What areas are you guys at? I'm still thinking it might have been the bad weather.

7-8 Mbps seems about right for a drop in margin of 4.3dB.

Same here. My SNRM target is tweaked but there wasn't enough headroom to stay on 70 Mbps if there was a significant drop in base speeds.
