Exciting times indeed. Good to see it's helping on good lines. Very interested to see what it does to marginal-poor lines regarding upload. Not expecting good things in those cases.

Im awaiting to see the extended reach of 998, ild expect to see lines syncing at say 20~30mbit with ADSL upload speeds.. (maybe a few bits from US1 bosting it a minor bit.)

Ewww... Someone from Snap called to try figure out why I was having issues with the Snap+ VoIP, I told him I didn't want an firmware upgrade but he did upgrade my firmware and now my sync dropped from 65Mbps to 37Mbps... I also expect to drop a few DLM profiles as well from all these restarts.

Anyone know why the SNR is so.... high with the "FRITZ!OS 06.10 Beta Firmware"

Hey @hio77, do you know how to downgrade a Fritzbox 7340? Its on the 06. firmware and I want to go back to 05 firmware but I'm unable to do so, I also asked the guy I was working with and he said because I did some SNR tweaking, my warranty is now voided and if I downgrade my firmware they will cease my snap+ line (which I'll probs do and port to 2talk or something) if I can figure out how to downgrade.

oh btw it is on "Maximum Performance" as well

Edit: nevermind syncing back up to 60mbps that will do.. I'm probs gonna lose my DLM-1 and my 17a but whatever, it turns out my "Maximum Performance" was bugged I think because when he upgraded my fritzbox he must have of imported my old settings causing the fritz box to go crazy. oh well I'll take this over the 37mbps I was getting before.

Good morning boys and girls!

Seems there may be changes afoot in my local cabinet, possibly related to the ongoing 998 bandplan changes. I awoke this morning to the following stats (bear in mind that I currently have a -4db tweak in place):

I noticed 2 main things;
1) Upstream max DSLAM throughput remains unchanged
2) The default SNRM for me appears to be 6db now!

I'm impressed with the low error rates; last time I was syncing that high I was getting around 8 CRCPM! That said, I might remove the SNRM tweak for now to see how things pan out.

Ok, weird. Back to 0DB tweaks now and SNRM has returned to 12db:

This could be something similar to what I've seen in the past where the SNRM drops of its own accord for some unknown reason. False alarm! :)

ive had my line as far down as 1.4dB after a resync for a dropout (it say here for 15 days until someone got inpatient with the DHCP session dying and rebooted modem..)

Im still confused how it actually happened, it would seem chorus were playing with something at earlier hours and dropped every line on the cabinet for a brief period of time (only explainable reason i can think of for noise being so low on resync)

ive been from 12 to 3dB during a power outage. went from 49-69 sync speed and lasted about 2 weeks before it resync'd its self

Just wanted to see if this was unusual or not... just spotted this on the ol spectrum - the pilot line has moved??

Is it signalling a possible move to 17a

Yeah strange eh! My lines looking better than it used to be, presuming people in our area are moving from ADSL to fibre (I can't because of shared driveway dramas!). Understand that its still 8b and on the old bandplan.

Just wondering if the pilot line was more in line with where it is on 17a connections (just comparing against the spectrum screenshot for a 17a connection on page 1).
