I suspect this thread is going to be choked with order confirmed posts for the next few days. No bad thing! The next will be a tsunami of speed tests and installation photos I hope! Order confirmed Pukekohe East!

Dome Forest (NW of Auckland, Warkworth)

My account shows for my pre-order

Starlink is targeting coverage in your area in mid to late 2021.

I guess it has to do with number of people pre-ordered in my cell ahead of me?

Looks like it will soon be time to decide to fish or cut bait. When I pre-ordered it looked worth it given the RBI plan that I was on. But that has since changed to offer a plan with the data cap only applying to "peak hours" 5pm to midnight. So I now get what for me is effectively no data cap at a reliable 20 - 40 Mbps down 10Mbps up 20-40ms ping for $124/month. Unlike people who are choosing between no useful internet and the Starlink beta, or people who already pay less than Starlink costs to get faster speeds on fibre, I have to decide whether it really is worth committing $500 for a piece of equipment that might be obsolete in five years with no guarantees what the plan will cost and offer after it comes out of beta.

To those that had their order converted today - what kit are you getting?  I've seen pictures of both a black and grey version of the dish, mine says black.

Mine says Grey. I’m on a farm 15km east of Whanganui. Latitude 39’ 56” S

I got my confirmation email this morning but it says they won't be able to ship because I have an invalid shipping address -

Starlink:

However, we will not be able to ship your order as your shipping address is not valid. Please log in to your account to update your shipping details

However it's the correct address that I use for everything. It's a rural delivery address.

Anyone else having this issue?

Bay of Islands being processed here!  As someone above says, looks like entire NZ online now :) [subject to cell availability]

Likely it fails the address system (google maps?) that Starlink uses. Might be worth trying to reconcile your RD address and Google?

We are a pretty similar latitude, when did you preorder?

Hopefully there's no difference between the terminals, and it's just a colour thing!

NZD 754 balance? Ooh, I made the decision to put down the deposit based on NZD numbers and my RBI plan cost at the time, but at some point switched to the USD amounts in my head without realising it. With over $900 for the box with shipping and $159 a month I don't think the extra speed will be worth it compared to my reliable and fast enough if not the fastest $124/mo RBI plan.

I paid the $159 deposit on the 10th April

Mine says black, but when I ordered the pole adapter the only option was grey, so I'm actually expecting a grey dish too.

According to reddit black dishes are an older design and have been superceded by grey ones. The black ones draw more power (80-100W) vs the grey ones (40-60W). Anecdotally some people think the black was more powerful and resistant to rain-fade, but I dont think it has been confirmed.

Interesting, since we've seen orders confirmed all the way up to Kaitaia, you can even outright order for there too.   I tried checking a few preorders, there doesn't appear to be much available between Kaitaia and Auckland...

I had an order accepted today for Bay of Islands, and I've seen someone in Whangarei order too.
