Confirmed and paid for my order today as well.

Was considering pulling the plug as I had signed up to Farmside RBI-2 in the interim when I first moved house. They offered me a 2 year, unlimited data contract for 79.95? ($80) which I grabbed as a good deal. (I know they are Vodafone) They don't show that deal on their website. I am in a shallow valley and my tower is over a hill and has an RSRP of -79dBm. Spoke to Farmside today and they confirmed I am connected to Fordell South. Then I noticed the email from Starlink.

I have been getting reasonable service with Farmside only if I keep things simple, i.e. no multiple downloads or the like. Speed tests were quite varyiable on the low side of 5-30Mb/s and the worst ping was 397ms. Downloads are slow and uploads faster.

I played around with location of the modem (Huawei B818-263) and tried various impromptu aerials with no major improvements (I know how to build aerials) Always had a cabled connection so no Wi-Fi issues.

Before I moved I was with Inspire in Tararua and they were rock solid, line of sight at 25/5.

So I now have a Starlink on the way. I will compare the 2 systems before deciding which to keep going but I am confident of the result.

We got our order converted too, we are about half an hour north of Kaitaia.

There is a Facebook group (“Starlink NZ Users”) where loads of people have been discussing the or orders, it seems there are some people around rural southern Auckland (one is Hunua) and near Rotorua that have not gotten an email for their orders to be converted yet. Whether the cell sold out really quickly or it hasn’t been activated yet is anyone’s guess.

Exciting times :)

Oh, I’ve been told this isn’t the best as it needs a bit of modification to work and has bent out of shape for someone who used it.

Back to the drawing board then.

My Starlink dish is in the post. I did an obstruction check with the app in the place where I plan to put it on my roof. It shows zero obstructions but says I'll have an outage every two minutes. Anyone got this issue? Might just be an issue with satellite coverage still filling in the gaps.

Crap, that must mean that my cell is at capacity, because I still don't see anything. Pre-ordered on 16 Feb.

I'm also waiting for my dishy to arrive and climbed on the roof yesterday to check out a few option I got the same results as you. I'm hoping it's just an issue with the new app, as it doesn't show any obstructions.

Mine also says the same obstruction time, without any obstructions!  Might just be an issue with the app.

The sky tv dish roof mount works very well. Only requires drilling 2 holes in the pole and a couple of good size bolts.  I live in a high wind area and it is rock solid.

no need for skytv when you have a great internet connection

It may be a case of don't promise what you can't guarantee you can deliver

It sounds like a nice worst-case figure. But likely to be less looking at early adoption?.

I grabbed this mount as well - if neither of these are suitable for the wooden pole we have randomly on the corner of the deck, I’ll get a roof mount.

This roof mount here:

https://www.dishtv.co.nz/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=63

DHL took a day to get the dish from Cincinnati, Ohio, USA to Auckland but ETA for delivery is still 9 days away *shrug* it says it’s cleared customs, surely it’ll only be a day or two now.
