Yeh I remember living a few streets away from you @richms and was getting about 17 down and 3!4 up. After G.998 it went to about 20~22 and about 2.5 down. Isn't UFB being rolled round there this year?

march 2018 according to the last I looked. I couldnt get an answer from chorus last time what the sync was at the road side, since if its ok there I would look at putting in a conduit now when I sort the water main out next time is gets a leak in it. Would also have me set for fiber when it comes around hopefully needing only one neighbour concent since that would be on my shared driveway and not the one next door with 5 more houses on it.

Here is the sad pathetic state of my line.

Your attentuation is pretty high. Most likely it is caused by the distance to the Exchange. Probably nothing can be done except to wait for UFB or 4G Wireless BB if that is available (and you can live with the data cap for Wireless BB)

Ah, impressive upstream for the distance though tbh.

was a comment about richms's line.

Your line is about max for what you can do with ikanos, if you got lucky and landed a broadcom line there i would say 90/40 would be ease.

I was on 30ish/10ish. So was the flatmate, my second connection was 25/5ish or so. Then they all went to crap. Its about 650m to the cabinet and its a no exit road so cant be going any other direction, and the last rain caused fault on the paper insulated cables resulted in digging of footpath about half way along the route that it should go so pretty sure its a direct line to the end of the road and then along beach haven road to the cabinet.

Chorus blamed multiples for my and the flatmates problems appearing one day.

I was under the impression that upload was limited to 10mbit with all profiles other than 17a? Have just seen a jump in upload to 13.5mbit on 8b. Line stats now 74933 / 13443 @ 12/12 Attenuation and 9/9 SNR

Weird; I get significantly better downstream than you, but you've got about 4x as much upstream. Marginal lines, eh...
