This could be great for low income homes where internet isn't an option,  but in the same homes a large sign up fee (comparatively) will be prohibitive to those same families.  Google fiber has this problem in Kansas, where they are trying to give free fiber internet to 'urban' (read: poor black neighborhood) families, but the sign up fee is too expensive, making it pointless as no one has $2-300 laying around.

That said, low income families may also not be profitable - you should work with community boards to get this to more people.

I would seriously consider getting an English major to look over your website and find any errors, spelling mistakes do scream scam to the average person - and they will be slow to change their mind.

Good luck

TerribleTalk, sounds like you need someone to fix up the website's content and language.
I'm an IT student and would be more than happy to volunteer my services between now and 1st December (I have another job that starts on the 2nd so I will be unavailable after that).
Private Message me for details / CV.

Good luck with the company, sounds like you're doing a good thing here. Hope it works out! :-D

According to their parent company website terrible.co.nz, they have, to date, donated more than $53 to six lucky beneficiaries.

to be fair, they are donating a share of their profits, and you don't make a whole lot of profit when you sell everything for a massive loss..

Can't a company claim back back the money made with domating to charities on their tax return?

It says "thousand" below it.  $53,000 isn't too bad for a relatively new company.

I'm still confused why on the case studies page, one is a good case study (saving $100 over Telecom), one is a Terrible™ case study (costing an extra $12 over Vodafone), and one is "Comming Soon".

That wasn't there a few days ago. It literally said $53+ before.

Yes, I had a look too.  definitely didn't say thousand.

I'd be interested if that was actually true.

If they are donating a share of their profit, then 53k is quite a lot of profit from a tiny telco that has been operating for less than 6 months, and sells almost everything at a loss.

It would have to be true though. I presume it is all their businesses and from when they first started trading.
