pjamieson: When the issue is happening, double check you connection speed on your modem hasn't dropped and run some speed-tests and log it with Orcon, based on what you find it will either be a physical line issue or something to do with their backhaul, as others have said.

Otherwise UFB comes to most of the area between Jan - Jun next year.

It never drops. I have contacted orcon but haven't heard from them for a while. UFB comes to my street in 2018 :(

you dont get banned for high ping in csgo.

do your speedtests through a computer connected with Ethernet, not your phone.

I know, but it was so bad that I had to leave or get kicked, and if they kick me they can get bans for kicking too much, so I just took the 2 hour ban.

The first 3? speedtests are through ethernet and the other ones are from my phone for comparision.

high ping isnt even the issue with csgo, packetloss is.

i can play with a higher almost as good as normal, bring packetloss in and it will never work.

Ah. i only noticed the last few were on phone, and assumed they all were.

According to the Chorus map, I would say most of the area is UFB available after July 2016. Myself and many other people in the area are 2018 - 2019. Do you have some inside info?

How hard is it to understand that it doesn't happen all the time and that my sync speeds will stay the same when it happens. I don't think they can understand it.

Yes I do.  But you can also get similar info from http://www.chorus.co.nz/maps.  Central areas start from next month, through to May 2015 (end Year 5).  The outer areas are currently Year 8, but most of these areas have VDSL, unless you're in the North-Western area.

Does it roll out from the exchange outwards in this case? Or is that too simplified? Guess I'm unlucky getting stuck in the middle of a non-vdsl area.

No, it seems to go outward - in, in two stages but I haven't studied it greatly.

The years are based on our Financial Years (Jul-Jun), but currently the very outer Year 8 areas are saying 2016-2020, so take from that what you will.  Unfortunately some people will be later, some will be earlier, that is the luck of the draw in such a massive network build.
