Hi,

More than 10 times these past few months the internet in Whangaparaoa has gone to complete balls for the people who are connected to the Exchange. I am on orcon ULL gear and in those 10 times the ping goes up to 2000ms ping. I have talked to 4 other people that have had this same problem and are all connected to the Exchange. They are not on ULL. When this happens (which is happening now) the internet is unusable and I have to use my mobile data on my phone. I do realize it is xdsl but I expect it to be at least usable. Who should I talk to try to get this fixed as it is so annoying, especially when you are trying to upload an assignment video.

Thanks

Edit: Here are some of my Smokeping graphs:

Are you connected to the exchange, or a Conklin?

ULL kit and Chorus ISAMs have absolutely nothing to do with each other. If you're on ULL and having an issue you need to raise the issue with Orcon as the equipment and backhaul is 100% under their control.

If somebody else is having a problem on a wholesale connection they need to raise this with their ISP to investigate as it's going to be completely unrelated to Orcon's issue.

Whangaparaoa is Auckland (unfortunately) - Id rather it wasnt, then can leave you big smoke ppl to your own devices and leave us coasties alone :-p

Nothing wrong with the net here for me.... 40/10 connection VDSL :) But I am on the main road 100m from a cabinet.....

This is why I insist I'm not connected to ULL gear.  People connected to it seem to have a consistently worse experience than I've ever had specifically requesting the wholesale Chorus gear.

As mentioned previously, you can raise it with your ISP.  OR, you can push a bit further for a migration to different equipment based on the fact you are having problems with theirs.  Give them a chance to fix the problem first though. :)

Have you logged a fault with Orcon?

You say you're uploading video - are you saturating your upstream which could be the cause of the issue?

Yes I have a Master Splitter, 15.7Mbps down, 1.04 up. (From the router) It hasn't happened much lately, and when it does it is usually really early in the morning so none of us notice it.
