To be honest, I've never had any of the issues that you guys are referring to

Though in saying that, I was a Quicksilver customer before the take over, shown by the Mercury Telecom as my ISP instead of Woosh Wireless

I think you guys who migrated from those accounts weren't put in the same pool.
As for me, still slow. Around 60kbps.
I'm not awake late enough to say what it is after midnight or before seven. :)

freitasm:
Still would be nice to write "say I sent you there so I can get some of the referral credits".

People expecting total disclosure from their ISPs should provide the same to their peers.

Move on now...

reflected on this for a day.
  You are right.

Yes i noticed too. They limited international traffic from early morning till 12 at nite by a huge ratio; around ~60 kBpsand up ~128kBps  i get for sydney servers . (nt sure how early the blokages starts cant wake up), national speed is still good. not that many ppl use national servers much. the fact is there are too many overseas servers.

JayADee: stupid telecom!

I hardly think Telecom is the cause of (whole or part) poor international speeds in this case. Even if you change Woosh plans, I'm sure you would get better results...

I wasn't blaming telecom. I know it's woosh. I meant telecom techs are also blocking at the local exchange, allowing only a certain speed for residential customers.

Telecom do not cap ADSL speeds, except at the request of the ISP via Telecom Wholesale.

Before this thread is dragged further off topic by unfounded accusations against Telecom. I suggest you read about how ADSL works.

ADSL speeds naturally drop off given distance and line quality factors - this is not caused by the techncians in the exchange. Of course, congestion can play a part but it is barely a deliberate 'blocking'.

Woosh have confirmed that the reason why speeds are so low is because Woosh have 'capped' the bandwidth that is open to users on this plan. This is not a Telecom issue, nor is it something specific to your line.

If you are having line specific speed issues and would like to discuss it on geekzone, please open another thread. Otherwise please keep posts and commentary specific to Woosh Orbit unlimited speed issues as it may result in the thread being closed.

Been on woosh wirelesss and wired for a year now. 5 gig wireless plan and 20gig wired plan.

No complaints at all. If you people thought you would continue to get top speeds on an unlimited account you were kidding yourselves.

Here is my wireless speed test 5.51pm sunday night at work.

I'm fine with that.

Here's another speed test confirming how slow woosh can be. And this person isn't even on the unlimited plan.
I've had a capped plan for about 2 months now, The first month was fine, and now every thing seems to slow to a snails pace. I feel as i'm being ripped off now.
