MadEngineer: I had this problem when associating the phone handset with the orcon router itself instead of its original base station via the phone port.

Are you with Orcon on UFB using a NF4V and getting full caller information ?
yes. I have had my Panasonic cordless connected to the phone port on both models of orcon router and this worked well. I'm currently using a linksys/Cisco pap2t which also works as expected.

Thank you to all who have contributed to this. A good outcome is that Orcon are now taking a closer look - despite having the problem for 8 months.

The purpose of this thread really was to find out if this was a widespread problem. Didn't hear from any Vodafone folk but one from 2D does not get T&D with a FRitzbox.

Missed the edit time window.
Elaboration as requested by PM:)

When working correctly my phone's date and time would be set or updated when a call came in (or automatically) and any subsequent calls in the call history would show the correct time that they came in. If the date or time wasn't correct then the time logged against calls in the history would therefore be incorrect. The call history simply logs the caller number against the current time.

If people want to read about it.. its all explained in TNA 102, Section 10 onwards

Onhook data transmission . The date/time and callerid is sent via between the 1st and 2nd rings (via the POTS side)

Yes Thanks. In the VOIP case who is responsible for the date and time information - the router or the data via the ONT

It is the voice switch that needs to provide the date time

refer TCF UFB VoIP interoperability http://www.tcf.org.nz/library/b0a6b982-04d3-4cdf-a0a7-5824bcb76687.cmr page 45

" The date and time must be derived from the ATA Voice Service time source and is in local time. "

Thanks. That leaves it squarely as the responsibility of the RSP when they supply the RGW.
