FYI: i havent reset router settings since i changed moved from adsl to vdsl.

Could it be due to that ?!!

Doing performance over WiFi will not get you accurate result. WiFi has so many limiting factors. Testing over ethernet cable is the only way to get an accurate picture.

In your situation, perhaps your device is too far from the Router or the device has a low end wifi card or the WiFi router itself is the problem. I have a Netgear R8000 (pretty grunty WiFi router) and test speed over WiFi is always similar to ethernet connected devices.

Genius White only does .11n so that kind of speed is pretty standard. Might want to get a better AP if you want faster WiFi.

Wouldn't think so as I am using 5GHz.

The cable run exchange to demarc is 370m here. We are in a rural area fed from the exchange.

I've seen a couple update overnight with some impressive increases - one from 56/10 to 67/23

I've also seen one relatively average connection (23/8) lose around 1Mbps on down upstream and downstream.

I seem to have dropped to a worse latency profile without any change in speeds. I will brave the cold downstairs to plug something into the modem to get stats later.

Been a week and ISP only escalated to chorus today from calling last wednesday. Might have to re-evaluate ISP based on that turnaround and insisting on a 24 hr test that lasted all weekend.

As it was only a latency change that is a hard case.

I can understand wanting an lqd to support any line conditional changes assumibg they have a previous good lqd to compare against.

Well once the fault in choruses derilect copper is sorted will be interesting to see if I get anywhere near the 10 meg upstream I once had before the fault that happened 3 faults ago.

You will never get the advertised speeds over wifi. Even if you're downloading a file off a machine on your network, you'll probably only get around 30 Mbps.

Lol - actually 2-3 days ago, I tested this over wifi. I got 30 down 34 up.

I tested it this morning over wired, I get 32 down and 23 up.

Maybe I will just wait and see. Too bad fibre is now planned for 2019 I think.

Some changes there. Interleaved but still a 9dB margin so not sure if just resync for the sake of it to put it on terrible latency, or ddDLM happening.

Getting 23ms across the link now, Sigh. Chorus tech tomorrow at 3 so wonder how long it will be till I get back on a proper latency. Good thing im not really gaming anymore.

Hi Richms,

I have been on VDSL for a couple of months now. In that time, DLM and then ddDLM have made quite a few profile changes (mostly speed increases which is good). However my latency is always around 19 - 20ms regardless of the different speed profiles. Just an observation.
