Have to say I've never liked that the chorus ONTs have the fibre tail exposed to little fingers, much prefer my UFF ONT were the fibre entry is at the rear of the unit.

Any chance of a photo I do fiber in chch and am trying to convince those above me this is the way if the future.

It does make me nervous! The first thing I said to my 10-year old after he got home from school was that he must never, ever touch it or he'd break the internet. He loves his YouTube too much to do that.

So inspired by this post I got out my Asus RT-N66U which has been boxed up for a while while I went through various ISPs. Now having moved recently into a place with fibre and reading this post I thought I woulg give it a go. As it hadn't been used for a while I updated the firmware to provide the option for entering the VLAN 10 and other settings mentioned on this post and various others.

That was this morning and pretty much all day on and off I have been trying to get it to connect without any success. For the life of me I cannot get it to work.

It looks like it wants to but it just hangs.

Any ideas? I'm with Skinny, if it makes a difference.

Skinny don't do vlan tagging.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

Skinny is on the same network as Bigpipe, which is separate from the Spark network.
