Sheesh. So much circular silly arguing here.

Plans: Most ISPs have several speeds, from entry level fibre to (basically - but not quite) Gig. Spark's is called Fibre Max. There's no point in putting extra intermediate steps in the existing lineup just to create more plans because there's no customer need and there's no pricing discrimination possible at a meaningful level.

RSP vs ISP: ISP is a generic term that's still used. RSP (Retail Service Provider) is a newer, more precise term that has some special meanings when it comes to regulation and Fibre in NZ. Feel free to use either term if you're talking in general about the company you pay for your Internet.

I am wandering if @Chorusnz have seen this post and changed something in the backend as I am on Fibre 200/20 plan and I have done a couple of speed tests and I am getting 200/30 200/35....

Sure, but it is unlikely that most RSPs would have automated process's in place to handle ordering and management of plans with non default speeds. So far easier to restrict their availability to corporate only.

Also note that the max shared bandwidth on GPON nodes is 2.4gig down / 1.2gig up. So there is not much point in putting everyone on plans with the same up/down speeds. On older Chorus UFB areas, that shared bandwidth is split among groups of 24 users. Newer areas it is split by groups of 16 users. In reality it is unlikely that an individual node would get congested. And if one does - Chorus have enough spare ducting that some nodes can be split into 2 separate nodes of 12 or 8 users each.

Chorus website used to show what fibre speed you were getting. Back then, I checked every house in my street. Only me and 1 other house were on the 200/200 plan (gigabit wasn't available then). Most people were on either 30/10 or 100/20, which is fine for them. The other house that had 200/200 was the one with all of the teenagers flatting in it.
