The one on the PSU isn't the ONT S/N. I tried with the second image, but it's too low res and the seller has edited out the text with the S/N.

what ever way it is, its kinda useless to someone else, then you will claim that they have been ripped off and the police would be involved.. i guess all we can do is sit back and watch :P

It seems the seller is more than the average joe bloggs, if they are blacking out serial numbers…

It's been on sale for several cycles.

Was told by a Chorus rep on previous auction that he can't sell it. This person knows what they are doing is wrong.

Don't know why TradeMe haven't taken action by now.

Because they don't seem to care.

When my wife listed a pair of Nike football shoes that our teen daughter had outgrown, it was taken down as "counterfeit" without even a request to provide proof of purchase or any other information.

They can do whatever they want on their platform. Like I do here.

Thats why I offer stuff for sale/giveaway here first before posting on TM

Haha, nice work.

Even if Trademe seems to be ignoring it, at least Geekzone is ensuring the PROPERTY OF CHORUS - DO NOT REMOVE sticker is being respected. 😅

I've dealt with new connections where the ONT has gone walkabout in the past. It's a pain for all involved.

Edit: Despite a few attempts, my phone still can't pick it up from that. It does pick up the one on the front of the ONT here though.

I'm flabbergasted that anyone could be so brazen to attempt to sell an item like this after all the feedback they have received. All for $40. They must have the skin of a Rhino.

It's also a shocking indictment on Trade Me.

Yeah it's a bit of a fiddle. I used Google Lens, which will pick it up depending on the angle or distance from the screen. Could do with tidying it up a bit more.

The key to my zoom-enhance process was to do a linear vertical motion blur, which effectively gives an average sample of each bar, reducing the noise. Then doing an unsharp mask filter to resolve the defocus. And finally manually adding back in thin lines that were too faded or blurred by the process, but obviously there.

So, Trademe does nothing, no correspondence will be entered into, blah blah blah. Why do they even have a report button?

They would probably do something if this made its way to the media, but only if it made them look bad. Otherwise, they clearly don't seem to give a crap.

If Chorus HO contacted TM they might get a better response than various concerned citizens. For example you can't sell Police, Fire or Ambulance uniform items. There are obvious reasons but TM seem happy to go on the line that the employer retains ownership of those items.

If the Police didn't dismiss it as a civil matter it would be way down their list of things to do.

Could you please post photos of the complete item as well as the serial numbers of the repeaters? Just want to be sure what I'm bidding on. Thanks. 🤣

Would it be against the rules to create a NFT of the ont or southern cross cable and sell that instead?

;)
