I am a single person household with 300mbs fibre, used mainly just for email, web browsing, streaming music/podcasts/radio and, on rare occasions, TV shows.

My average usage has been about 70Gb per month over the last six months.

On a Gigabit plan - 4 users, multiple devices.

One is a gamer, another is a casual gamer.

Two of us stream entertainment fairly regularly and I WFH 3-5 days a week.

Overall, it appears over the last 6 months or so, we've been averaging 1.6TB a month, with peaks over 2TB and troughs around 1.2TB a month.

About 500GB. The pi-hive is about half of that. The rest is mostly streaming, with a little bit of incremental backup.

2degrees 900/450 (or whatever they call it) plan.

over last year, the lowest was 3.5TB a month, average around 7TB. max was 13TB

WFH, lots of kids streaming everything, I also share my plex server with some family (who live 2 streets away and wish we had line of sight for a direct connection, but alas).

Its one of those things I no longer need to keep an eye on

2-3tb back in Auckland on a 1gb fibre line, now about 1-1.5tb on a rural wireless plan.

I know in the past they use to have a fair use policy on their unlimited plans but from what you said I’m guessing they got rid of it.

13TB is pretty normal now for a heavy user, if it was getting toward 25 to 30 tb per month that's a different story.

13TB is not normal for a heavy user. It's way way way into the last fraction of a percentile. But while most people consume media by streaming, there shouldn't be an issue absorbing a few of these ultra heavy users in most RSP networks. Certainly most RSPs appear to have decided it's not worth the hassle of trying to enforce any fair use clauses that they may have.

It’s been so long since I’ve checked our usage. I don’t even have the Vodafone app installed anymore.

Now that I’ve installed it, I can’t get to my data because “My Vodafone is currently unavailable for maintenance.” That message doesn’t make sense which is probably a good enough excuse to stop my quest for knowledge and just settle for “I don’t care anymore.”

• Cable 900/100
• Last time we looked 100GB per day / 2.5TB per month for five of us. But free Vodafone TV zero rates a lot of our viewing until the end of the month when that will increase
• Ditto (Streaming videos and tv shows, Live TV, social media, video/audio calls & backups to the cloud) + work from home and offspring playing online multiplayer games.

From the answers that everyone provided this is what I’ve noticed with the monthly home internet usage. Feel free to correct me if it’s not accurate:

Low usage: between 300 GB - 1.5TB a month
Normal usage: between 2TB - 8TB a month
Heavy usage: 13 TB and greater a month

I may ask this question again if those hyperfibre plans come down in price to the current price of FibreMax plan or lower.
