So we endured all that ranting for nothing? Much appreciated

I am on the xtra Go-large plan, and I am unhappy about the speeds. Did I say am? I mean WAS. Since yesterday (tuesday 14th) my speed has increased faster than Jam chasing a poodle down the street. My speeds went from 400K off-peak to 4mbps and from 200K onpeak to 2-3. Its like moving from dial-up to Dsl all over again. So if you are having speed woes, just wait a bit and give them a chance.

Usage for:     28 Oct 2006-27 Nov 2006
Current usage plan:     Go Large calling Usage
55,218.84 MB

Shh.. some people just want to come here and rant about how evil/bad/whatever Telecom/Xtra are..

Any positive results must be fake!

What a relief! Someone saying things are actually getting better.

I wonder if all trolls who came here a week ago complaining about Telecom will come back when their connections start working a bit better to recognise the fact.

Thanks for the update Fossie!

Fossie, I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that:
A. You have never seen me chase a poodle
B. You've never seen me chase something
and C. You've never met me.

But thanks for assuming thins. Have a nice day.

What? You were actually planning on doing anything?
I'm sorry you feel you had to 'endure' anything, but as far as the thread go you made no appreciatable effort to help, neither did you make constructive posts so...... who are you again anyway?

Just to further my glee, right now my BT client is sucking dry the interwebs at proper (50+ kb/s) where as before even out of hours (ie. after 12pm and before 4pm) I got MAX 20kb/s but averaged only about 12kb/s. Sweetss

BTW, if you must know, I tested Linux ISO's with 1000+ seeders (Vmware appliances)...

O yea, my IP is now OUTSIDE the 125.x.x.x range - on a 202.x.x.x. So I'm outside the GO LITTLE pool.

I'm actually feeling quite sorry for the guys trying so valiantly to defend Telecom/Xtra with the nice generic Contention/Fair use answers...Sucks to be you...

See ya...(would'nt wanna be ya)

Cool

Well, it actually offends me. I defended Telecom/Xtra with the Fair Usage answer, because, simply put it's clearly stated in their T&Cs that users on a certain plan will be impacted.

As for "Sucks to be you", I have to say it does not. Even though I defended Telecom on that Fair Usage bit, I am actually on TelstraClear, and my 10 Mbps connection is much better than any of Telecom's 7 Mbps max speed. So, shall I say it sucks to be everyone else? Nope.

Please explain how we, geekzone who has nothing to do with Telecom can help you? We are not connected with Telecom and yet you make that statement about "effect to help" when its clearly impossible. And as for the constructive posts remark... that I guess is up to ones own judgement.

I'm sure when you signed up that you read the Traffic management policy which CLEARLY states that Bittorrent may be managed (". The applications that we manage during busy periods will change over time depending on how customers use the internet" )

But then again... this sort of thing is to be expected given this thread. This thread has pretty much lived out its useful (if it had any) and its time for it to die.

Well zipgunn, you were the one complaining about xtra on here, i'm pretty happy with it and so are most others... but well done on putting your money where your mouth is and changing providers. Most others don't do that, and that is what makes Telecom really listen, rather than just ranting in forums.

What you think your posts were in any way constructive. Seriously what help were you expecting here? Get over it, nobody cares about your problems, its not our fault you did not read the fair use policy. We don't like trolls. You are a troll.
