Thanks knumknuts.
Lol Brucie.
Orcon seem to get good speeds too and for the amount of traffic we do (about 20G a month) the price is similar to xnet (granted, you have to move your phone to them but that doesn't bother me--the contract does though.)

I'm still waffling but I'd like to know if I can get out this non-existent-on-their-side contract with woosh first. I may ring them up next week. The thing that's bugging me is the slow html speed. I can't even go see a tv trailer or watch youtube! Doh!

I can't say I have ever really been able to watch Youtube well with woosh though on Orbit flatrate, there has always been some lag, are any ISPs getting Youtube smooth and consistent from International ? (besides Telstra cable)

happily closed my account with Woosh,  moments ago.

Are now with Xnet,    impressed  by helpdesk,  and customer service.
Weird query was sorted in two  minutes.  Lady spoke to manager and all sorted.  Well done.

so byeeee   Woosh.     Woosh  is the sound of the door as it hits your ar**.

If use less  than  100gig a  month.  Xnet looks best bet.

    regards to all,

Yep, it'll be xnet next for me, too. I average anywhere from 10 to 30 G on average. Occasionally more if it's the middle of winter and lots of nifty first person shooters come out. Should be nice outside for a while yet though. I think we only ever broke 100 once. Xnet has a pretty good price plan for that. I'd probably go fs fs just to max out the download speed, not because I need upload.

Let us know your new speeds, maybe in the trademe thread about woosh since it's Ot here.

Thanks for the tip about xnet, too.

Could someone do some pings on Xnet please as my son plays CS and Guild Wars and needs a fairly fast response. Doesn't have to be for those games, just some Game Server pings. Thanks in advance. .

It is done!

Just got back from being at misses last week and changed my router details to connect to Xnet...

Will post the forth coming speed test results...

Xnet, your now on trial!

Nothing impressive so far, but early days so I will withhold judgement for now...

The speed isn't brilliant but I see that you only have a FS/128k connection rather than FS/FS which may account for some of the reduction.  Exchange congestion or your distance from the exchange could also be affecting the result.

However, you must be pretty happy with that compared with what you were getting on Woosh?

Cheers,
Grant.
