@Senza sounds like you're in my neck of the woods with exactly the same problem I posted about a couple of months ago. I'm on Oropi Road. There's a new, fibre backed cabinet 800m up the road from my new place but I can't get connected to that. The next best is 7k's down the road so weak DSL. Plenty of fibre on Pyes Pa Road, and they brought that over to Oropi School, but that's of no help. 

 

A mate of mine suggested I try Lightwire, they do a 5ghz wireless connection, 250GB for $90 a month so cheaper\more data than cellular broadband. I get line of sight to their transmitter as luck would have it, and I'm really happy with the performance. I stream Fanpass, Netflix and Newshub and haven't had issues with anything so far.
