influx:

So a year since the ddDLM upgrade and no doubt now that my line is doomed to stay 13-14ms higher ping than what I was getting on DLM-1.

I had foreseen this from the first few weeks of the change that the ping (not the speed) is going to remain a permanent downgrade, but still had false hope. As a gamer, I'm sad.

Anyone else have the same result? Or did most peoples lines correct themselves to their former lower pings and I'm just SOL?

Happened to quite a few actually.

Sadly chorus do not follow the above profiles.. weird things happen..

FYI, most connections are on I-ddDLM as that's the default ordertype.

So the big storm from a couple of weeks ago caused my ADSL connection to start dropping several times a day. It appears to have been resolved and is no longer dropping.

However, my speed/sync is about 20% slower.  I was previously showing an attainable line rate of 7.4mbps and I was syncing at 6.4 to 6.9mbps.  Now my attainable line rate is 6.3mbps and I'm syncing at around 5.5mbps.

Did DLM come in and slow my speeds down because of the line faults and disconnects?  If so, will it come back up to speed even though this is not a new connection? How long do I have to wait?

I just got a letter from Chorus saying they're going to do the vectoring upgrade here this month.

My excitement is tempered because I really can't afford to lose any more upload bandwidth (concerns over VOIP quality), it was already reduced from the last DLM changes.

Is it likely upload speeds will be reduced from vectoring?

Edit:Sorry I think I posted this in the wrong thread, there is a vectoring thread as well. Oh well Hio77 has still seen it & helped.

A letter? Wtf?! Wheres my propergander materials @chorusnz!

On a individual connection basis saw a drop in upload.
Overall very minor increase.

The letter was funny, because it has a picture of a guy polishing an old vintage car, and I thought that was very fitting in a way...with them polishing up their old copper network.
