Interesting to see the latest Starlink map, showing Auckland is at capacity!  Or perhaps they're saving the region's capacity for 'out of city' more rural areas?  I'm pretty sure when I looked not long ago, the whole of NZ was available on Starlink's map.

Parts of NW and N Auckland has been at capacity for a while now, but this is the first times I've noticed the whole of Auckland. And I would doubt it's to save capacity for other regions. Since they have configured it as a cell based service, which each cell apparently around 25km across once a cell is full, they have stopped allowing additional subscribers. There is definitely a drop on speed and latency increase in the evenings, but it still beats rural ADSL or way over subscribed RBI.

Seems I slacked off this weekend

Slept though a scheduled launch this AM from VaFB, and back to back another at 0830 tomorrow from the cape.

No slowing down

If you have clear winter skies forecast, might be some interesting clusters.

The new RV subscription can be paused at any time so looks very interesting as a possible internet backup solution as well.

Subject to potentially severe limitations if you're in a filled hex cell. Good article.

I had to do a double-take when I checked the app this morning, now getting 18-23ms ping which is very nice

Starlink has started a referral program. Anyone who signed up by June 30th will earn a free month of service for themselves and their referrer. They just need to give their account number to the referrer to claim.

I'm happy to be a referrer. :-)

Looks like the map has changed again with 2 cells in the northwest and 1 in the south waitlisted. Expansion is 2023 according to the hoverover

Great news about the POP.  Looks like it happened just after 3am.  Here's the SamKnows latency report

My speed on Starlink has improved about 50% on the download and 300% on the upload.
