As the original poster I was so happy but overnight I dropped back to 8b. This may have been due to a power cut but the line was a bit dodgy yesterday as well. Sorry to post my Q in two threads but if I leave this alone will the DLM eventually bump me back up to 17a?

I too has a fall back in sync speed. ddDLM adjusted sync speed to 62 Mbps Down and 19 MBps Up with SpeedTest result of 57 Mbps Down and 17 Mbps up. It is now back to sync speed of 55 Mbps Down and 15 Mps up with SpeedTest result of 50 Mbps Down and 14.5 Mbps up. CRC Error rate is down quite a lot.

I think hio77 is correct. When ddDLM went live, it selected an agressive profile and then paring it back if the CRC error rate is too high. Oh well, I should not complaint, these speeds are fair better than the ADSL speeds that I got before.

Well, well, well!

This all makes perfect sense now!

My Skinny model was giving me grief the other day, I restarted it and then ran a speed test, I found I was getting 92 down 42 up, which I thought was amazing, only a tiny bit slower that fibre, which isn't in my area yet.

Also the latency was very good.

I was in fact about to comment about it in the Skinny broadband thread.

I think it also depends on what your entire neighbourhood is up to. If everybody is over 80 - your speeds will be great. If everybody is on gpforum ... my condolences!

So, it's the 5th. Is the rollout still in progress? Mines still showing profile 8b.

Is the rollout only on specific cabinets?

rollout kinda appears to have stalled a little.

your line may have also decided its better off on 8b.

Mine hasn't moved either..

reading through thread, looks like if you already had great VDSL speed.. you get even better speed.. those on lower end have not moved

A guy at work went from 62/15 to 100/44, no master splitter just a single line filter.

Seeing jumps like the one above make me feel less bad thinking about going back to VDSL from FibreX...

Yep can work wonders.

Had a customer today went 70/12 straight to 100/48. They wanted to know how we changed their copper to fibre

That sounds like a borderline connection. 17a won't do anything good for that apart from reduce crosstalk from other lines.

When ddDLM starts adjusting noise margins you may drop to 6db and see a differance.
