looks still like 8b, although a pretty decent 8b sync. differance being you were on a 12dB profile before, now back to the 9dB ones.

snr? you look to be close to the 70mbit cap for ikanos cards.

Some 8b lines can pull off massive numbers so its not exactly surprising, still a very good line there! a shame your upload is a little sad..

Ah 12dB profile. Explains the slower upload.

Downstream is pulling back so I would say your most likely on ikanos. 70000 is the limit your a few bits short of that which is pretty typical.

i would say it would be unlikely a lport reset would enable you get to onto 17a. its something you just have to wait on and you might get it down the line, you might not, its sometimes a fickle thing.

Im on a marginal and my Download increased by about 10mbit and upload halved down to 5mbit, id rather have the 10mbit upload back as i dont really need the download speed.

Important note...

@hio77 knows all to well.

Many times on my VDSL lines i have port reset them and done tests ETC. Every time i found a port reset makes things worse, Dont just reset and expect to be back on DLM1 or 17A, Its not as simple as that.

Every single time i did it for myself or anyone (apart from extreme cases after faults) it has worsened the situation.

unfortunately @redstorm this is the other side of 998. connections are more asymmetric.

There is no way to "get it back" sorry.

looks more like a jump to 17a than to do with the bandpan change.

do you know what your stats were prior to the speed increase?

now that the mince pies have settled and Chorus is back to speed (!) with their December 2019 rollout for fibre in my area (Torbay, Auckland), has their been any change of heart to increase the reach of VDSL in the meantime for poor sods like myself who are stuck with ADSL in the interim. (previously when I asked, I was laughed at by those with fat UFB pipes and VDSL cabinets outside their front door).

Yeah I can't see Chorus doing anything anywhere at the moment as all their energy is being put into the UFB roll out unless (and I'm not advocating that you do) you wish to dig up the cable and chop it into little bits forcing them to do something
