Well... a CRCPM of 5 isn't anything to celebrate really...

I seem to be on DLM 2 now. Which is interesting. Also got a Sync of 37Mb/s which is cool, Also this is a speed test I just did aswell.

heres the specs from the router.

I'm back from holiday in a couple of days. Will be interested to see what I'm on when I get bakc, hopefully errors haven't gone up too much. I would check remotely but I cant remember my remote password for fritzbox, lol

Well, got another resync last night:

:D

Errors are at an acceptable level as well, but I suspect that this is more due to the 0.5mbit sync speed drop than anything else.

Interestingly, despite the sync speed drop, Speedtest is showing about the same throughput as yesterday, only with slightly better upload speed:

Sam when did it start syncing at a such a high rate its faster than mine and I have a better Attenuation figure I do have a very stable line with lower errors but still your sync rates a 4Mb faster?

There are definitely factors involved that we can't really see. Right now my receive sync speed is 44936 with attenuation of 4db. I'm DLM-1 as well, though I do have the SNRM target set to the middle notch (i.e. the target is 14db). I've seen quite a wide variety of speeds and error rates just on my line - CRC errors as high as 3 per minute or as low as the 0.2 I have now, and the difference doesn't always correspond to a higher sync rate. My sync rates have varied by about 4-5 Mbps on DLM-1 as well.

I've just moved to a new property (1st of Jan - literally next door to the old one), so that's why I'm getting much better rates these days. I always suspected that my old line was dodgy - this pretty much confirms it!

I would move to get better speed as well.  I find my line has a low bit rate on the lower frequencies there must be a lot of noise in the ADSL spectrum.

I've been away, so no posts in a while!

Well, I guess I was a bad boy last year, because my Christmas present was a DLM downgrade as at 04:11 on 25/12, and I've seen no change since then.

I guess my CRCPM of 7 was too high.

Interesting that my CRCPM is lower than it was the last time I was on this DLM, so maybe I'll get an upgrade at some point soon. There was a lot of Works along my road in the week leading up to Christmas, so I wonder if that was a factor?

Thanks for sharing that gmanp, with information like that we are starting to narrow down the acceptable DLM-1 range! Now we know that it's somewhere between 3 and 7 CRCPM.

Here is mine at the moment. Bitswap is now off both ways, interesting the errors changing thruout the day, and still have a massive chunk at the low end of the spectrum that is way down compared to many others. Guess thats the junky thin 80's cabling at play with more crosstalk etc.

Well, I've been on DLM-1 for more than 48hrs now (still in my initial 10 day validation phase) and my CRCPM is at 1.75:

I might try pushing the envelope a bit to see if I can get my sync up to 50 and still have an acceptable CRCPM rate after my validation phase is up.  TBH, I'm not holding out much hope for that considering my CRC rate was 1 on DLM-2 @ 49mbit, but hey, I'm always up for a challenge! :D  Also, it might help us work out the max acceptable DLM-1 error rate...

I like the fact your DSLAM can only attain a upstream rate of 10mbit/s and your attainable is 16mbit/s haha

I think we've pretty much established that the Fritz cannot correctly report an INP of 1 or an accurate attainable throughput in the Send column.
