my router stats shows 63 down, 27 up.

Actual speed test shows (with Ethernet cable, cat 6): 55 down, 3 up

Wifi: 30 down, 1 up

PS4 (with cable, cat 6): 63 down, 7 up

Chorus shows (potential): 51 mbps

With Sync Speed of 63 Down and 27 up, SpeedTest of 55 down is about right as there is usually 10% overhead at Layer 3. However, 3 up is not right at all. You should be getting around 20 for SpeedTest if your Sync speed for up is 27 up. Either the ISP is doing shaping or there is a lot of noise on your line. What is the CRC error rate on the UP direction?

I usually ignore performance test over WiFi as there are too many variables. Unless you can control all WiFi variables, it is not a true reflection of performance on your line.

Orcon seem to have a artificial cap been used I too have a similar issue however I have a line speed of 40Mbps and can only see 10Mbps throughput :(

A whileback, it was fairly common for QOS to take some time to update.

Orcons system appears to still work like that, while many RSP's have progressed to use the radius flags for rates to set QOS on PPP sessions starting.

This is all assumptions though and there very well could be a reason for the way orcons system works.

Hopefully it all comes right :)

It has been 10 days since ddDLM went live on my line on the 28-Apr. Here is a brief report:

Before ddDLM:

Sync at 58 Down and 11 Up
SpeedTest results - 52 Down and 10 up
Fair amount of CRC errors

Immediately after ddDLM:

Sync at 62 Down and 18 Up
SpeedTest results - 57 Down and 17 up
Quite a lot of CRC errors

Seems to have now settled on:

Sync at 55 Down and 15 Up
SpeedTest results - 50 Down and 14.5 up
CRC errors rate is lower that before ddDLM

I believe people have wrong expectation that ddDLM is going to bring massvie improvement in speed. In reality, there is a nice increase in upload with a slight decrease in download speed in my case.

Perhaps this is how ddDLM is supposed to work ...
