NZ will be one of the first countries to use Starlink for Mobile SMS, and eventually voice and data.  It does seem NZ is a popular place to test out new Starlink services.

My understanding is that with the latest dish, you need  the Ethernet adapter to be able to hook into  your own wifi router.  But there doesnt seem anyway to  be able to add  that in when signing up for Starlink?  And, you cant create an account  before signing up for a service.  Maybe I am missing something.

Not sure how it works if you walk  into Noel Leeminsg and pick up the kit there?

Yes, you seem to be only able to access the 'shop' once you have an account with Starlink.  You sign-up for an account with Starlink after buying from Noel Leeming, then tick 'already have my dish' as part of the sign-up process.

I take it the advantage to buying through Noel Leeming is that you can pickup instore and potentially pickup ana Ethernet Adaptor at the same  time.   Rather than ordering online to setup an account and then asa a second step haveing to go back in and order an Ethernet Adaptor.

Yeah  -  I just picked up at Noel Leemings now.  Made sure it was a store which carried the Ethernet Adaptor too.   They dont seem to be shown on-line but  their on-line chat person told me which stores carried them.

Only if the Starlink dish has plenty of movement freedom  their direction can move around esp in the set up phase,

Freeview dishes always point at the same spot

Looks like the 1TB soft data cap for residential might be gone in the US.  (There is no longer 1 TB of Priority data.)     Many changes to the plans in the US.

ComCom have just published the first MBNZ report that includes Starlink.

Also, there's is quite a bit of detail in the report on 4G FWA (eg "59% of speed tests run over Fixed Wireless lines achieve download speeds of less than 25
Mbps in non-fibre areas, compared to 44% in Fibre areas.")

I'm one of those n = 23 in the Starlink group ;-) Last month SamKnows recorded:

Min: 62.1 Mbps
Max: 367.6 Mbps
Average: 214.5 Mbps

@zenourn

Me too.  Wonder how many other GZ members are part of the 23.

You win on the speeds, my fastest was only 341Mbps
