I figured I'd put a few more data points to the SNR tweaking knowledgebase in the thread.

This is my current connection with DownstreamMarginOffset=-60

And info from other screenshots I have:

I reckon you could get away with a bit less SNRM as well.

Damager: Hey Guys

Master splitter now installed and definite increase in sync speed

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/98526755/Splitter%20Speed.jpg

I asked the installer about the 0 attenuation. He said although im very close to the cabinet (50m) he would have thought the values would be more than 0. He reckons it may change after another week or so with the new resync.

Any other ideas?

cokeman2: hello

i been trying to put my snr margin down by  using  the fritzbox export editor ...it successfully updates the fritzbox but the snr still on 12 no matter what i try  -10 or - 30  etc
i am on adsl  connection...

This thread is about VDSL2, not ADSL. It would pay to start a new thread.

In all seriousness however with such a poor connection you're either 4km + from a cabinet/exchange or have a very bad wiring issue that needs fixing. You're pretty much wasting your time trying to tweak things unless you know exactly what you're doing and will probably just make your connection less stable.

I don't think it is an issue, just the modem not reporting it for some reason.

Before I switched providers I had the same linespeed (69993) since my first connect. I got 42550 on first connect to my new provider, and since then it's SLOWLY crept to 45344, but I guess I was imagining DLM might kick me up a little faster than that to my old connection speed. How long (it's been 6 days) should I wait before getting concerned?

Sounds like you might have been on 17a with old provider and are now on an 8b profile? That could take a long time to get back if that's the case.

Yes I had a 17a before and an 8B now. I was repeatedly told that DLM would take care of that for me, is that not the case should I open a case with my ISP to get switched to 17a?

In theory DLM should take care of it. Judging by peoples experiences in this thread it was fairly rare for that to actually happen for a long while, but I think is a bit more common lately. Actually I think relatively recently someone with a new connection got onto 17a in a matter of days, so you may see a change soon. DLM is a bit of a mystery at times though!

I guess you could ask you ISP, but I've heard that while chorus used to put people onto 17a at request, they don't anymore - so you might just get the same answer of "let DLM handle it."

How long does it take to go up to this 17a? I've been connected to snap for 3 weeks now (first week was with a faulty fritzbox, so only 2 actual weeks of connection).

My modem stats for the last 2 weeks are.....(and constantly at these levels the whole time, and I assume my connection is clean enough to move to 17a)....

From what I've read on official documentation 2.75db is the cutoff for 17a (in other words; you are less than approximately 200m from the cabinet).  However, that is an old document now so I'm unsure if this limit is still applicable.  The process for a 17a profile upgrade is not currently well understood.  One thing you might want to try is to ask snap to reset DLM on your line, given that the majority of your first 10 day period was with a faulty modem, this may well have affected DLM's view of your line.
