I've been told I'm in a shared driveway/ROW (which is correct) and Chorus will be in contact with my neighbours, so I let them know. Fingers crossed...

Should be installed by the end of April. Let's see how it goes...

Wonder how the topic starter got on? She hasn't been back on GZ with any update.

Update hot from the trenches.
After months of continual chasing I now have both consents. It's taken a total of 9 months to get them. I got the final one yesterday at 4pm and you would have thought I was asking the owner to sign over a kidney.

I called my local service provider immediately and they have now had to appoint a staff member who's sole role is to handle and help consenting issues because unless it's painless and easy Chorus legal move on.
But it ain't over yet, I don't have the fibre installed....

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Indeed!
I honestly won't believe it until it happens.

I had to bite my tongue yesterday as the owner was signing, she was making a fuss about work not going down her side of the driveway because of all the infrastructure that was there after she did renovations (illegally) without consent.

My inside voice was repeating the mantra "just sign the consent you mad bi&$h" whilst trying to look sincere. Then in the next breath she says "I'm having terrible finding tenants, can you put the word out for me."
WTF!?!

Champagne had been moved from shelf to fridge in anticipation.

My place is being scoped out tomorrow by Chorus (not to rob, I believe) and the installation is next week.
Had conflicting info myself, one person saying I needed to be there for the scoping visit, one saying I didn't. In the end I called them back and had to explain no one could be there tomorrow, so they're going to send someone out to have a look, as well as leaving a consent form in the mailbox for my landlord to sign. Here's hoping it goes okay...

That will be a separate consent form giving permission for the civil work that needs to be done onsite (this is different to MDU or ROW consent). The service company will require it before they start the install, so make sure it is signed and returned to the service company before the installation date - if they don't have it back and on file the tech won't get dispatched on the day and your order will be delayed.

If you have been told you can just give it to the tech on the day before he starts the job, this is incorrect. Yet it seems to happen often in my experience. Frustrating for all involved.

The views expressed by me are not necessarily those of my employer Chorus NZ Ltd

Scoping completed, no form was left. Let's see what happens on the 29th. The tech said it would be a "nice, easy install".

Installation tomorrow afternoon. Apparently it's going to be an aerial install, and the outside works were completed today.

My good news story - at last my neighbour has consented to work on the driveway, so external work is being done on Monday.  Very happy

Hopefully the wait from then to get the house install won't be too long

One day, maybe the roles will be reversed and you can take your time with her.
