I'm on one of the old ihug 2M plans, which, compared to today's plans, were bargains ;P.
Anyone using it?  This month ihug is not counting my usage properly, after about 3 weeks of use the peak and off peak are no more than 10% of my 10GB usage, while I estimate it would reach about 80% by now with the stuff i download.  This is probably not a problem as a neighbour of mine is having the same experience but their internet speed seemed to be OK.  But ME, these two days my speed downstream speed is about 300Kbps to about 500Kbps instead of 2Mbps, while upload is normal at 128.  Is anyone experiencing similar problems?
I have tried changing modems from the one I use now to the most simplest direct USB plug in ones, and I'm sure there is nothing wrong with my hardware because they show the same result.  I even tried replacing my phone cable -.-...
And i have been pretty pissed off by Ihug's email support, I have sent 3 recently and they never reply.

It looks like the usage metering is completely messed up at the moment. On my account the summary usage is lagging badly and there is nothing in the detailed usage. This happened at the start of last month but then the usage suddenly appeared on my account two days before the end of the month, leaving me over. From past MOTD messages it seems they run the detailed and summary usage tallies on two separate servers or sets of servers, and are forever struggling to get them to match up or indeed to update at all (surprise!).

Speed has been really patchy too, though it seems to be coming right. Today I am getting 4M/700K which is pretty good considering my plan is only 3.5M/512K. :) The very slow incoming email, the smtp server erratically refusing connections, and the DNS problems last week, suggest that ihugs internal network is very troubled.

Rung ihug, they told me it is probably because of all the Unleashed users around my area causing congestion...  probably true but this is just so darn unfair, i mean i get about 200Kbps of download speed during hours like 7pm to 10pm, and even at 3am it only gets 1.5M..  I mean why the hell do I have to share bandwidth with so many others?  Well they will try to move me to a 7.6M plan now, but to be honest I doubt there will be much difference.

I'm still on the 2M plan. I see no reason to change. I get 20gig + 40gig a month and only need ihug toll to get the -$10.

What possible reason to upgrade to ihug's new plans? They want me to sign up to some ihug home phone which cost $15 more for some national calls I never plan to make, and from what I read, speed is not much faster, and only 10Gb limit. Major downgrade.

Yes exactly.  Well the good thing is ihug will let me revert back to the 2M plan should I wish to..
I have no choice but to give it a go, seriously cannot live with speeds of less than 300Kbps..

Internet here in NZ just sucks, The network, especially on my cramped exchange cannot handle the "increased" speeds.

I am on the ihug plan that offers 10GB peak, + 10GB off peak, Asides from some nasty email problems over the last few days, iHug are still better than most.
