Publius: Keeping the copper as the PBX is analogue lines (yes i know horrible).
Publius: The trouble comes about from the lack of signalling, the PBX has to listen to the line to see when it gets hung up rather than being told which can occasionally cause problems when it gets it wrong.

sbiddle: It's the solution but many people don't realise it's not enabled by default on Telecom NEAX lines or TelstraClear voice lines on their Nortel switches.

Am currently using Orcon dsl on one of the copper lines and after seeing how fibre goes will get rid of the dsl.
The big advantage of UFB fibre for us is we can get more than 1 IP address without having to move to expensive connections like HSNS, other expensive fibre, etc.
