Bugger, just checked and we "before 2019".

Funny thing is we have had ADSL2+ for a while (I am 200m from a cabinet) and live opposite a primary school that DOESN'T show up in the 'schools' layer - I was hoping to be able to piggyback off that.

Guess my only option is to go VDSL2+

(BTW - I am in West Auckland)

Nice. Map feels more responsive and easier to use than it was a few months ago, last I checked.

We've released our indicative UFB year three plans (1 July 2013 to 30 June 2014) for consultation.

These have been agreed with Crown Fibre holdings but are indicative only.

Before we finalise the next stage of the UFB rollout, we want to make sure local councils and the industry have a view of the plans so we can collect feedback and work together to make the build work go smoothly and minimise disruption to the local community.

Our indicative UFB year three plans would see work begin in six more towns from July 2013 ? Feilding, Gisborne, Greymouth, Kapiti, Levin, Pukekohe ? as well as continue to extend its fibre network even further in areas where work is already underway.

We're looking to complete the consultation process and publish the final year three plans on or near 1 August 2012.

i miss out in year 3 too. seems i'm going to be stuck with adsl1 speed broadband in my location in central auckland for a while longer. sucks being "between" cabinets, and on the far reaches of the exchange :/

the school at the end of my street is not even marked under "priority users/schools", but maybe they already have a fibre connection through other means.

the "urban broadband > 10Mbps" layer envelopes me, but i'm not sure what thats supposed to me, or by when...

The Chorus SAT tool lists all current and future connectivity options both DSL and fibre.

Just checked my Auckland address, 2019. Won't be living there when that happens. My Tauranga address where I'll be retiring to = "Outside planned coverage area" so It will be ADSL2 at best forever..

Thanks, I was wondering if that was the case. I tried a few streets in Albany and a couple of other year 1 areas, but must have randomly selected addresses that aren't yet covered.

EDIT: would be nice if it was highlighted on a map somewhere. We'll probably be on the market for a house in a few months and UFB would be a nice little bonus ;-)

Same thing here for my street, although there's now plenty of red here in Whakatane rather than the token amount of "year 2 blue" that we had before. Chorus has told me that it's possible to get a connection anyway if you're prepared to pay for it (and some of my neighbours are prepared to split a bill), so now I'm just waiting for my ISP to announce plans so that I can put in a pricing request.

Argh, I'm just two properties outside of 'Year 3' coverage. I hope they can stretch that fibre just a little further... :)

ChorusVan, is it you guys or someone else running fibre up the hillside from Clifton Rd/George St up to Hillcrest Rd/Seaview Rd, Whakatane? It's not on the Chorus map (technically it is, but it's right on the edge) but I can't think who else it'd be; FX is the only other company I'm aware of with fibre over here but it's all residential up the hill so I can't imagine it being FX fibre going in.

When I drive past again on the way home I'll see whether I can spot a company name anywhere.

UFB fibre up to 100 Mbps by 2019

So are these "years" not meant to be taken as literal "years", but perhaps some other value between 300 and 1000 days?

Wish it really was > 10 Mbps at the moment, but that's another story.
