They are ending their ties with Orcon so makes sense. Seems a bit odd it would happen so suddenly though.

They also upped their prices with around only 2 weeks notice recently. Then had a couple of outages so I'm none too happy as well.

So l43a2, who would you recommend as a decent host?

Thanks :)
Couldn't find a price on their site though so I'm assuming they're out my league!

Very average. We were not informed about the impact until 8pm Saturday after we contacted them. Get what you play for i guess. looking to move providers this week after this outage and a few months back there server was hacked and we had an outage for a few hours.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Ring or email, specify what you are after and ask for a quote. They often get back to you quickly.

Would also recommend Unleash. Very good company.

Would not touch HD at all. They are in the s**t ISP basket with Worldnet.

Our web guys have been onto us for a week to get an A record change, which is hard when noone know who the hell the DNS host is with.

But in anycase its died now so clearly someone had some advance warning that an IP change was needed.

As a follow up to that, does anyone know who the hell phage.net.nz are - they are the DNS hosts and noone knows who they are and it was a previous IT company that sorted it all out. Not looking forward to work first thing tomorrow.. Should probably go in early since I will be the one calling people I bet.

That looks to be iSERVE. Best to give Orcon a call I guess.

I think that is orcons / iserves low cost brand, kiwi web hosts server. Are you paying them for hosting? You would need to contact orcon if it is. Generally though you just log into CPanel to change it in the DNS editor.
