Only recently my international speed test has dipped to a misley 100kbps.
When the local speed is still around 3mpbs

Anyone else with this trouble?

I've recently ticked over 40GB usuage. Maybe they start throttling from here on?

Yep - I noticed this all day day yesterday. 

It had previously been very good for a week or so ... looks like we're back to the super-slow.  There is a chance that we've both been moved to the naughty pen though.

im pretty they are throttling everything p2p 24/7 as i cant seem to get over 20kbs on limewire bittorrent anytime of day. where normally on limewire anything with 10 hosts will get me at least 50kbs+

i dont think its the leecher pool we're in.

during midnite and early morninings, like 6am, i got 2600kbps to LA

but then around 9.30am, it was back down to 300kbps

Fast, cheap, reliable - pick two.

This is still to a lesser degree the case today.

imo this definitely has nothing to do with fair use and traffic management restrictions.

For the last 3 weeks, international speeds were great, but since this Saturday, the 125.238.x.x range's international speed went down while 125.236.x.x range's international speed went down this Monday.

National speed in both ranges are still ~4Mbps which is normal.

I only use the net from around 3pm and the international speeds are always that low, although I assume this is the speed for international traffic 24/7.

I, too, hope this is a temporary problem.

telecom are such scumbags.

i wrote to them and as long as im getting good speeds on a nz speed test server (which everyone does), they dont care.

on thing i also noticed. had a torrent running this morning with the speed graph on.
at exactly 8am, speed dropped down drastically from 70kb and wouldnt go over 20kb.
so p2p traffic management begins at 8am, not 4pm

If one reads the traffic management documentation, you'll notice that they say that they filter during busy times. 4PM-12AM will happen to be 'peak periods'. Busy periods may fall out of those periods. 

So if you are using the Go Large plan and run peer-to-peer applications during busy periods, we may manage the peer-to-peer and other 'non sensitive' traffic to limit the congestion it causes for other users.

Put another way, it means the majority of our customers - who want to surf the web or send email - will get priority during busy times.

Traffic management is an effective way of reducing congestion but it won't remove congestion from our network entirely. During busy periods, there are still heaps of people surfing the web and emailing, so you are still likely to see some reduced speeds.

If the busy periods are set by policy (as opposed to a dynamic real time response to network load) as appears to be the case then they should be in the fair usage policy or otherwise advertised to consumers.

After switching to Go Large. I never bothered with those speedtest. Despite the speedtest always telling me my speed to the LA server (or any other overseas server for that matter) is ~200kbits/sec, I can usually manage > 150kBytes/sec on HTTP, and around 100kBytes/sec on a private tracker. For $50/month and unmetered usage, I'm satisfied.

By the way, there's some guy on the GPForums who pulled >450GB in a month!

Im having the same problems, ever since about the 5th i havent been able to reach speeds of over 20kbytes/s ive also noticed that playing Battlefeild 2 i am only able to find about 100-200 servers, where i used to get 500+, in contrast wilth my telstre connection 500m away i can reach 700 servers.

i think the problem is basically, that telecoms servers cannot handle the traffic, because they have too many customers heavily using the internet, so they should buy more servers. also it might save them from everyone disconnecting, and joining another company after their year of suffering is over.

You're joking right? Generally servers are the machines that provide the content, not the connection (unless you're referring to the layer 7 appliance). 
The problem appears to lie in the international connectivity when you're on Go Large. Since its 'managed traffic' one can only guess what that means.

Are people in this thread still having problems with overseas traffic on Go Large?

National traffic for me seems to whistle along at around 524KB/s but for international traffic I haven't seen a speed higher than 27KB/s in the last week, with most HTTP downloads averaging around 8KB/s. This is dismal, so I phoned Xtra tonight and to be honest they couldn't have been less interested. They didn't even want my username or phone number, they just said that if the national speeds are good then it must be a problem with the overseas websites I'm visiting. Thing is, it's *every* overseas website I visit, even ones where I get perfectly good speeds from my connection at work.

It's very frustrating that Xtra don't want to know anything about it. The person I spoke to there was most defensive and I got the distinct impression that he had answered the same query several times today!

I must stress that this is just HTTP speeds I'm talking about - ironically P2P speeds seem to be unaffected for me and are whistling along on my private tracker at around 200+KB/s.
