When you look at the end credit with the ihug symbol one has to wonder whether some stones weren't being thrown in a glasshouse perhaps??

LMAO. No matter what you think of the Xtra-ordinaries, this is hilarious! Nice one. Loved the Brian Tamaki reference too. Heh heh.

What an embarrassingly lame attempt at guerrilla marketing, you have to wonder who thought this would create buzz, even the posts feel scripted

Agreed. That's why I banned the users - they are both registered on the same date, almost same time, from the same IP address. I'd say is a troll or someone from the other ISP.

I have to admit though I was rather disappointed that the Xtra-Ordinaries didn't even get a mention at the Fair Go worst ads competition.

As an advertising campaign idea, the Xtraordinaries suck. It's done by fatuous ad people who don't understand technology or what people use it for - worst of all, it's stolen from the X-Files and with a dose of Village People added in a ham-fisted fashion. For some reason, Telecom's advertising is plain terrible across the board.

However, that Youtube "viral" is just unfunny. If it is Ihug as the last frame implies, they're the last people who should crow about tacky advertising. Ihug's trying to capitalise on the Fiji coup and get more phone customers... see my Computerworld FryUp newsletter.
