I'm on a Vector fibre connection. Access to most sites is really slow....including Geekzone.

Google and other overseas sites like Twitter are virtually unreachable.

Traceroutes show acceptable probe times up to the point where Vector crossed to asianetcom or "vocus"...or until they reach APE. Then the probe times don't degrade, they just start dropping out.

Anyone else seeing very slow Net access to most sites?

Local sites are much better. tvnz.co.nz, tv3.co.nz and airnewzealand.co.nz all load very quickly.

(Are so many people now streaming the Olympics that it is impacting the global - and some local - chokepoints?)

UPDATE: Apparently our ISP ("Softsource" in Albany) is working with Telstra to resolve some problem....which doesn't really give any sense of scale or location...It's what would happen no matter where the issue was.
