Hi guys,

I'm currently on a 160GB Total Home Broadband plan with Telecom, but that amount of data seems to not be enough in a household of five - all of whom use Steam and Youtube on a daily basis as well as downloading HD movies from iTunes and the like. We seem to use an average of 200GB of data a month, sometimes reaching over 300GB. I figure changing ISPs will help cut down on the pricey bills every month...I know we could simply stop using so much, but sometimes it's hard to resist and there seem to be reasonable ways to achieve it on other ISPs!

I've spent about an hour comparing prices and data usage and other information for the largest ISPs in New Zealand and have found that Snap seem to offer a very good deal - 580GB a month with no traffic shaping and unlimited, unmetered Youtube usage for $145 monthly. Maxnet's unlimited bandwidth plan sounds okay, but the waiting list and traffic shaping put me off somewhat. Slingshot also sound quite nice at $70 monthly for unlimited data, and while traffic shaping is a con, at that price it wouldn't exactly be a big deal.

So, I guess my options are between Snap and Slingshot - this might be a vague question, but what do you all reckon would be the better option here?
