Hehe, this is prob a super uber noob question, but I'm just wondering, what exactly is used for Download and Upload speed in gaming?

Like, i kno download speed determines how fast you can load stuff, download stuff etc. and upload speed is like you sending something. but then here's where i get confused. coz i thot u are always constantly sending stuff out, while getting stuff in. so how would upload speed affect overall speed in gaming and stuff?

im going to broadband(finally got broadband in our area!), and it's download speed is MAX, and upload speed is 128kbps. was wondering how the upload speed will affect gaming and stuff.

thnx.

It will affect, because TCP requires ACK, and if your connection can't upload ACK fast enough, the whole thing slows down. Check this post: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?ForumId=49&TopicId=10815 (please follow up on that thread).
