you may be off a different sector of that site or off a different site... first port of call is always their support line to log a fault. they say they have a power issue with the site.

1st tech attended, couldnt fix, 2nd tech attended, ordered part... part arrived next day...didnt fix fault...good skills.

still down now ...add another 27 hours to the total. unlikely to be remedied until at least 12pm tomorrow so lets add another 18 hours to that...

Hi dimsim,
thank you for notifying us about this. Our local sub-contractors and Network Services team are well aware of the issue and they are working on a fix with the highest priority. Should hopefully be resolved today.

Could you please PM me your Compass account details so I may check into whether there is possibly an alternative product and service available in your area? Kind regards,

Ryan @ Compass

Hi Ryan I use your service in Pukekohe and it is very reliable. On a different subject, speed. Your service says speeds are up to 5/1 MBit/s. I see around 3.8 MBit/s download on average. Is this technology capable of going any faster? The reason I ask is that at the current speed I can stream SD video pretty much straight away but need at least 5 continuous to stream HD reliable and straight away. With Vodafone rolling out their RBI in our area, faster speeds might be worth a look for you guys.

Hi Nick,
Thank you for the feedback on our service. The download speed of 5Mb/s is the maximum possible speed on your Compass Wireless connection but on average, most of our customers hover at around 80% of that maximum on a consistent basis.

Compass Wireless technology is capable of faster speeds and we are currently investigating this option. To view the latest updates on Compass Wireless speed plans, please keep an eye on the wireless section of our website www.compass.net.nz. Kind regards,

 Ryan @ Compass

Hi Ryan (Nick),

I have the same speeds on wireless here in Tuakau...I do get faster than that after midnight btw.... Ryan its good to see Compass is checking out faster speeds on its own wireless service as a competing one here in NZ does have faster down load and upload speeds available to use....Just cant recall their name but they are based in Wellington ( parent company as I recall)... getting faster upload speeds makes wireless competitive then with the likes of ADSL2+ or VDSL2 ....
I will keep checking the link provided...

Regards

Laurie

FYI...I was thinking of Araneo who have faster download and upload speeds available on their wireless network connections...unfortunately they would need a big enough customer base here in Pukekohe/Tuakau to justify the costs of setting up their equipment.....Laurie
